You can use the sliders on the Levels Palette to adjust the amount of light in an image, (Input Levels) and to adjust how much light will come off of the image when it is printed (Output Levels)

It has been my experience that the midrange slider in the top window is the most useful in making adjustments...not unlike a stereo graphic equalizer more
