Making a gift
to the Southfield Community Foundation is both simple
and rewarding. The Foundation enables all donors, regardless
of their ability to contribute, to become philanthropists.
The Foundation accepts gifts in many forms. As you consider
your philanthropic plans, please consider a gift to
one of the Foundation's Permanent Funds.
Donations can be made by:
Check. Please make checks out to "The Southfield
Community Foundation" and indicate the designated
fund on the memo line.
Credit Card. Please include your name, address,
credit card number, expiration date, gift amount, gift
designation and signature.
Stock Transfer. Gifts of appreciated stocks make
particularly effective donations, as you avoid paying
capital gains tax and receive a charitable gift deduction
and/or credit based on the market value of the securities.
Please contact the Foundation (248-351-1320) for a stock
transfer form.
Gifts-In-Kind. The Foundation would be pleased
to talk with you personally regarding gifts of land,
art works, or other non-cash items.
Deferred or Planned Gifts. Please consult with
your tax or estate advisor and contact the Foundation.
Bequests. The Foundation can be named in your
will for a specific gift, a percentage of your estate,
or the remainder of your estate. Bequest wording should
include the foundation's full name and mailing address.
The Southfield Community Foundation is a 501 (c)(3)
nonprofit corporation.
Our Federal Tax Identification Number is 38-291-8048.
Gifts to any of the Foundation's Permanent Funds qualify
for both a Federal Tax Deduction (Itemized Return) and
the Michigan State Tax Credit for gifts to Community
Foundations.
